Este manual proporciona una visión general de los avances en el campo de la investigación sobre movilidad y migración juvenil, con énfasis específico en el movimiento con fines educativos, laborales y de capacitación, abarcando intercambios patrocinados por instituciones, gobiernos y agencias internacionales, y la libre circulación. La colección presenta más de 30 debates con base teórica y empírica sobre el significado y los aspectos clave de diversas formas de movilidad tal como se practican en las sociedades contemporáneas, y concluye con una exploración de los costos y beneficios de mudarse al extranjero para los individuos y las sociedades en un momento en que la Se pone en duda la viabilidad de la libre circulación. El alcance geográfico del libro cubre Europa, Asia, Australia y América, y tiene en cuenta las desigualdades socioeconómicas y regionales, así como acontecimientos recientes como la crisis de refugiados, el Brexit y la pandemia de Covid-19.
