Resumen:	Este libro revisa avances recientes clave y nuevas fronteras dentro de la investigación psiquiátrica y la práctica clínica. Estos avances representan o permiten cambios de paradigma en la disciplina y están influyendo en cómo observamos, derivamos y probamos hipótesis e intervenimos. Los avances en la tecnología de la información están permitiendo la recopilación de datos dispersos y fragmentados y el descubrimiento de significados ocultos a partir de datos almacenados, y se exploran plenamente sus impactos en la psiquiatría. También se presta atención detallada a las aplicaciones de la inteligencia artificial, el aprendizaje automático y la tecnología de la ciencia de datos en psiquiatría y a su papel en el desarrollo de nuevas hipótesis, que a su vez prometen conducir a nuevos descubrimientos y tratamientos. Se analizan los métodos de investigación emergentes para la medicina de precisión, así como una variedad de marcos teóricos novedosos para la investigación, como la psiquiatría teórica, el enfoque evolutivo de la definición de psicopatología y la teoría de la emoción construida. La sección final considera nuevas intervenciones y vías de tratamiento, incluidos los psicobióticos, el uso de la neuromodulación para aumentar el control cognitivo de las emociones y el papel del sistema telómero-telomerasa en las intervenciones psicofarmacológicas.
