Este volumen, dedicado a la memoria de Gerard Mannion (1970-2019), ex catedrático Joseph y Winifred Amaturo de Estudios Católicos en la Universidad de Georgetown, explora el tema del cambio de la iglesia desde una variedad de perspectivas teológicas diferentes. Los autores del volumen ofrecen respuestas a preguntas como: ¿Qué es necesario cambiar en la iglesia universal y en las denominaciones particulares? ¿Cómo ha influido el cambio en la vida de la iglesia? ¿Cuáles son los peligros que trae consigo el cambio? ¿Qué le espera a la iglesia si se niega a cambiar? Muchos de los ensayos se centran en personas que han cambiado significativamente la iglesia y en eventos que han catalizado el cambio, para bien o para mal. Algunos también presentan visiones de cambio para denominaciones cristianas particulares, ya sea en relación con la ordenación de mujeres, diferentes enfoques de la sexualidad, la reforma del magisterio y muchas otras cuestiones relacionadas con el cambio. |
