Resumen:	Este volumen explora cómo el catolicismo comenzó y continúa abriendo sus puertas al resto del mundo y a otras confesiones al abrazar el ecumenismo, gracias a la visión y el legado del Concilio Vaticano Segundo. Explora temas como el contexto del siglo XX que precedió al concilio; paralelismos entre el Vaticano II y concilios anteriores; su carácter distintivamente pastoral; el legado del concilio en relación con cuestiones como la dinámica iglesia-mundo, así como con la ética, la justicia social y la actividad económica.
