Este conjunto de dos volúmenes LNCS 12035 y 12036 constituye las actas arbitradas de la 42.ª Conferencia europea sobre investigación de RI, ECIR 2020, celebrada en Lisboa, Portugal, en abril de 2020.* Los 55 artÃculos completos presentados junto con 8 artÃculos sobre reproducibilidad y 46 artÃculos breves , 10 artÃculos de demostración, 12 artÃculos CLEF invitados, 7 artÃculos de consorcio doctoral, 4 artÃculos de taller y 3 tutoriales fueron cuidadosamente revisados ​​y seleccionados entre 457 presentaciones. Se organizaron en secciones temáticas denominadas: Parte I: aprendizaje profundo I; entidades; evaluación; recomendación; extracción de información; aprendizaje profundo II; recuperación; multimedia; aprendizaje profundo III; consultas; IR – generales; respuesta a preguntas, predicción y sesgo; y aprendizaje profundo IV.
