Resumen:	As life expectancies have been increasing, with an increase in the group of advanced age, more pathology concerning this group has appeared. One of them is inferior extremity ulcers; of this type the most frequent and important are the varicose ulcers, followed by the arterial ulcer and a combination of both. We will deal with their relevant aspects at this point. Other types of ulcers at the lower extremities like escaras or decúbito ulcers, caused by constant and prolonged pressure on the osseous prominence, and Leishmaniasis, a protozoarian disease common in humid and warm jungle areas transmitted by phlebotomies insects, can be studied at a different academic space and time.
