Este libro investiga la psicología aristotélica a través de sus obras y comentarios sobre ellas, incluidos De Sensu, De Memoria y De Somno et Vigilia. Los autores presentan artículos de investigación originales que invitan a los lectores a considerar la procedencia de las ideas aristotélicas y sus interpretaciones, sobre temas que van desde la realidad hasta los sueños y la espiritualidad. Entre los temas explorados se encuentran la doctrina de Aristóteles sobre el "sentido común", su noción de transparencia y la generación de colores. Los capítulos se presentan cronológicamente, lo que permite al lector rastrear influencias a través de las fronteras de las tradiciones lingüísticas. Los comentarios de personajes históricos que aparecen en esta obra incluyen los de Miguel de Éfeso (c. 1120), Alberto el Grande y Gersonides (1288-1344). También se presentan descubrimientos en adaptaciones árabes del siglo IX, comentarios bizantinos y paráfrasis renacentistas de la obra de Aristóteles. La introducción de los editores describe los principales desarrollos históricos de los temas discutidos, preparando al lector para las perspectivas transculturales e interdisciplinarias presentadas en este trabajo.
