Este manual presenta una visión general de los estudios sobre la relación entre el envejecimiento activo y la calidad de vida. Aborda los nuevos desafíos del envejecimiento desde el paradigma del envejecimiento positivo (activo, saludable y exitoso) para una mejor calidad de vida. Proporciona perspectivas teóricas y estudios empíricos, que incluyen conocimientos científicos y experiencias prácticas sobre el buen envejecimiento y la calidad de vida en la vejez en todo el mundo, con el fin de responder a los desafíos de una población envejecida. El manual está estructurado en 4 secciones que cubren perspectivas teóricas y conceptuales, cuestiones de política social y agenda de investigación, métodos, instrumentos de medición-escalas y evaluaciones y, por último, estudios de aplicación que incluyen dominios y contextos geográficos.
