Este libro examina los factores globales y nacionales que han influido en el declive de la industria manufacturera sudafricana. Se utilizan técnicas cuantitativas y econométricas para analizar las condiciones macroeconómicas que derivan en un mejor desempeño dentro del sector manufacturero. Se utiliza evidencia empírica para establecer recomendaciones de políticas que permitirían que el Plan Nacional de Desarrollo de Sudáfrica cumpla sus objetivos. Este libro tiene como objetivo reunir el análisis de la política industrial, la política de competencia y las soluciones a las fusiones para producir un marco sobre cómo preservar un entorno competitivo y apoyar el crecimiento de la producción, la inversión y el empleo.
