Esta antología explora el tropo recurrente de la madre muerta o ausente en las producciones culturales occidentales. A lo largo de períodos y géneros históricos, este diálogo se ha empleado para articular y debatir cuestiones de política y religión, cambios sociales y culturales, así como cuestiones de poder y autoridad dentro de la familia. Åström busca investigar las numerosas funciones y significados del diálogo cubriendo material extenso desde el siglo XII hasta 2014, que incluye hagiografía, romances, cuentos populares, obras de teatro, novelas, literatura infantil y novelas gráficas, así como cine y televisión. Esto se logra considerando el discurso como producto de la época y la cultura que produjeron las diversas narrativas, y como parte de una conversación cultural continua que se extiende a lo largo de los siglos, lo que da como resultado un texto innovador que será de gran interés para todos. Académicas de estudios de género, feministas y de medios. |
