Este libro examina cómo la nación –y su ley (fundamental)– son “sentidas” a través de diversas formas estéticas desde la era de la revolución hasta nuestra era de legitimidad democrática cuestionada. La legitimidad democrática contemporánea está ligada, entre otras cosas, al consentimiento, a la representación, a la identidad de gobernante y gobernado y, por supuesto, a la legalidad y las formas legales a través de las cuales se estructura la democracia. Este libro amplía las formas en que podemos entender y apreciar la legitimidad democrática. Si se "imaginan" las comunidades (democráticas), este libro sugiere que se debe "sentir" su "legitimidad", de manera análoga a la necesidad de que no sólo se haga justicia, sino que se vea que se hace. Este libro reúne perspectivas legales, históricas y filosóficas sobre la representación e iconografía de la nación en los contextos europeo, norteamericano y australiano de colaboradores en derecho, ciencias políticas, historia, historia del arte y filosofía. . |
