Resumen:	Este libro proporciona una visión general de cómo gestionar un "círculo" matemático, es decir, una organización que descubre y fomenta jóvenes talentos matemáticos a través de actividades extracurriculares significativas. Este es el primer volumen de una trilogía que describe en particular el proyecto SMART Circle, fundado en Edmonton, Canadá, en 1981. El acrónimo SMART significa Actividades, recreaciones y tutoriales matemáticos de los sábados. Este libro, Volumen I, ofrece una muestra de muchos aspectos, incluidos proyectos y minicursos. El Volumen II, que consta de proyectos de estudiantes, aborda el propósito del Círculo, y el Volumen III, que consta de minicursos, explica lo que realmente sucede en el Círculo. Los tres volúmenes proporcionan una gran cantidad de recursos (problemas matemáticos, cuestionarios y juegos, junto con sus soluciones). Los libros serán de interés para los estudiantes motivados que quieran realizar investigaciones independientes, los profesores que trabajan con estos estudiantes y los profesores que actualmente dirigen o planean dirigir sus propios círculos matemáticos.
