Resumen:	Este libro explora el fenómeno de los investigadores en riesgo: es decir, las experiencias de académicos cuyos temas de investigación les exigen enfrentarse a diversos tipos de peligros, incertidumbres o vulnerabilidades. Este riesgo puede derivar de trabajar con personas o grupos marginados, o de ser miembros de dichos grupos. En otras ocasiones, el riesgo se relaciona con condiciones económicas o ambientales particulares, o con fuerzas políticas que influyen en los campos de investigación específicos en los que operan. Este libro defiende la necesidad de reconceptualizar –y por lo tanto reimaginar– el fenómeno de los riesgos de los investigadores, particularmente cuando se percibe que esos riesgos afectan, e incluso amenazan, a los investigadores. Basándose en una gama diversa y global de estudios de caso que incluyen Aotearoa, Nueva Zelanda, Australia, Baluchistán, Chipre y Alemania, los capítulos plantean la necesidad de identificar estrategias efectivas para abordar proactivamente estos riesgos para abordar la precariedad, el peligro y la incertidumbre. Deborah L. Mulligan investiga en el campo de la gerontología, específicamente con hombres mayores y la ideación suicida.
