Resumen:	Este volumen de la ya establecida serie de Bioquímica Subcelular presenta 20 capítulos que tratan de una amplia gama de complejos proteicos interesantes. Permitirá a los investigadores apreciar fácilmente la importante contribución de la cristalografía de rayos X y la microscopía crioelectrónica en este campo de estudio. La importancia biológica de estos estudios estructurales se enfatiza a lo largo del libro. La diversidad del material incluido aquí indica la amplitud de este campo y el tremendo progreso que se ha logrado en los últimos años. El libro está dirigido principalmente a estudiantes e investigadores avanzados en biología estructural y otros en ciencias bioquímicas. Se complementará con otros libros relacionados dentro de la serie Bioquímica subcelular. Uno de los editores (JM-W) participa activamente en biología estructural y el otro (JRH), como académico jubilado y editor de la serie de Bioquímica subcelular, tiene una larga experiencia en la edición de libros de varios autores.
