Este volumen editado analiza la producción de conocimientos africanos y las vías de desarrollo alternativas de la región. Los contribuyentes demuestran formas en que el conocimiento centrado en África refuta los estereotipos descritos por los académicos eurocéntricos y, en general, examinan las contribuciones indígenas africanas en la producción y el desarrollo del conocimiento global. El proyecto proporciona evidencias históricas y contemporáneas que desafían el dominio del conocimiento eurocéntrico, en particular sobre África, en diversas disciplinas. Cada capítulo aborda los estudios existentes y los amplía haciendo hincapié en los sistemas de conocimientos indígenas, además de los indicadores futuros de la producción de conocimientos africanos. Samuel Ojo Oloruntoba es profesor asociado en el Instituto de Liderazgo Africano Thabo Mbeki de la Universidad de Sudáfrica y académico visitante en el Instituto de Estudios Africanos de la Universidad de Carleton (Canadá). Adeshina Afolayan es profesora asociada del Departamento de Filosofía de la Universidad de Ibadan, Nigeria. Olajumoke Yacob-Haliso es profesor asociado de ciencias políticas y decano interino de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad Babcock (Nigeria). |
