Resumen:	Este segundo volumen es obra de más de 55 autores de 15 disciplinas diferentes e incluye ciencia de sistemas complejos que estudia la viabilidad de componentes, y también el estudio de situaciones empíricas. Como descubrirán los lectores, la coviabilidad de los sistemas sociales y ecológicos se basa en la contradicción entre la humanidad, que adopta objetivos concretos, y la biosfera, que se refiere a funciones ecológicas. Vemos cómo situaciones concretas arrojan luz sobre los determinantes de la coviabilidad, y en este libro se define de manera transversal y ontológica la naturaleza misma de la coviabilidad, presentada como un concepto-paradigma. Al adoptar un enfoque sistémico, sin defender ningún dogma económico (como el desarrollo) ni dicotomizar entre los humanos y la naturaleza, al tiempo que enfatiza lo que es relevante para los humanos y lo que no, este trabajo contextualiza de manera neutral el lugar del hombre en la biosfera. Ofrece una nueva forma de pensar y posicionar el imperativo ecológico y atraerá a todos aquellos que trabajan con sistemas sociales y ecológicos.
