Globalization and technological advances have led to a progressive loss of cultural identity among new generations, especially in rural contexts such as the Institución Educativa El Rodeo in Lorica, Córdoba. This research focuses on the systematization of a pedagogical experience based on traditional games as a strategy to recover and strengthen cultural identity in 6th-grade students.
A qualitative approach was adopted under the Participatory Action Research (PAR) paradigm, implementing activities such as the Festival of Joy and Guided Recess with traditional games (spinning top, marble game, chivichivi, among others). Surveys, direct observation, and field diaries were used for data collection. Among the most relevant results, students showed a significant increase in the recognition and appreciation of their cultural heritage, improved group cohesion, developed socio-emotional and motor skills, and strengthened their sense of belonging. Teachers, in turn, validated the use of traditional games as a transversal pedagogical tool. Finally, the experience demonstrated that traditional games are not only recreational resources but also cultural devices capable of fostering meaningful learning and reconstructing identities. The school thus emerges as a key space for the revitalization of intangible cultural heritage. |
