| Resumen: |
The pedagogical proposal focuses on the need to involve families in the psychosocial care of patients with intellectual disabilities, recognizing their fundamental role in the therapeutic process. Many of these families face barriers to accessing clear information adapted to their needs, which limits their ability to accompany and empower themselves in the care of their children. To address this situation, a multi-format educational booklet, both physical and digital, was developed, offering accessible and adapted tools. Based on a family-centered care approach, this proposal seeks to strengthen families by creating an inclusive educational booklet, providing clear information about intellectual disabilities, facilitating the acquisition of practical strategies, and promoting their active participation in the therapeutic process.
The methodology applied was quantitative, focusing on the preparation and delivery of the booklet, although without evaluating its results. The findings indicate that this resource not only offers relevant information, but also encourages greater integration between the family environment and the clinical setting, especially in rural contexts where families face educational and technological limitations. The implications of this initiative are significant, as they promote equity in learning and highlight the importance of families as active agents in treatment, with a positive impact on the well-being of patients. In conclusion, this proposal validates the importance of developing educational resources adapted to family realities, allowing families of patients with intellectual disabilities to become key actors in their therapeutic process and in improving their quality of life. It is recommended to continue this type of initiatives and carry out future evaluations to measure their impact on family participation and psychosocial care.
The general objective of the pedagogical action proposal was: To empower families of people with intellectual disabilities in comprehensive psychosocial care through the development of an inclusive and multi-format educational booklet (physical and digital), which offers accessible and personalized tools to meet their specific needs. The methodology used was from a pedagogical and community action approach, ensuring that the information was accessible, participatory and relevant for all those involved, focusing on the preparation of the booklet and its delivery to families, although the results were not evaluated, a phase that will continue in 2025. Techniques such as interviews and workshops were used to record, organize and analyze the findings. Among the findings, it is indicated that the educational booklet not only provides relevant information, but also promotes greater integration between the family environment and the clinical setting. As for the interactive digital tools, they allow flexible and personalized access to resources, overcoming educational and technological barriers. |
