En las últimas décadas, a medida que el epicentro del cristianismo se ha desplazado hacia África, el pentecostalismo ha emergido como una presencia particularmente vibrante en el continente. Esta colección de ensayos ofrece un estudio innovador de los complejos vínculos entre la política y el pentecostalismo africano. Situados en la intersección entre lo político, lo poscolonial y el capitalismo neoliberal global, los colaboradores examinan las raíces del extraordinario crecimiento del movimiento pentecostal; cómo el pentecostalismo interviene en cuestiones sociales y políticas clave, como la ciudadanía, la política partidaria, los desafíos del desarrollo y la identidad; y, a la inversa, cómo la política en África modula el movimiento pentecostal.
