Este libro es parte de la nueva serie de libros del ICL "Contribución del ICL a la reducción del riesgo de desastres por deslizamientos de tierra", fundada en 2019. Los artÃculos revisados ​​por pares presentados en el Quinto Foro Mundial sobre Deslizamientos de Tierra se publicaron en seis volúmenes de esta serie de libros. Ha sido editor jefe de la revista International Journal Landslides desde su fundación en 2004. El profesor Peter Bobrowsky es el presidente del Consorcio Internacional sobre Deslizamientos de Tierra. Es cientÃfico sénior del Servicio Geológico de Canadá, Ottawa, Canadá. El profesor Kaoru Takara es el director ejecutivo del Consorcio Internacional sobre Deslizamientos de Tierra.
