Este libro explora un futuro post-hablante nativo. Explora la naturaleza de los hablantes nativos (inglés y japonés) en el contexto japonés, y las posibles bases sobre las cuales se podrían emplear profesores de idiomas si se rechaza el habla nativa (es decir, qué se espera que hagan los profesores de idiomas del futuro, y ser, en la práctica?). Revela los problemas que presenta el modelo de hablante nativo en la educación de lenguas extranjeras al explorar narrativas individuales de docentes-investigadores relacionadas con la experiencia en el lugar de trabajo y la inclusión/exclusión basada en el idioma, así como el hablante nativo japonés en la enseñanza del japonés como lengua extranjera. .
