En el mundo abundan los conflictos y las prácticas y tecnologías de comunicación asociadas que perpetúan y cuestionan los conflictos tal como ocurren. Todos los conflictos están conectados de manera crucial con el lugar y todos los conflictos se comunican de múltiples maneras. Este libro explora el complejo nexo entre lugar, conflicto y comunicación y reúne 11 investigaciones sobre la interacción de lugar, conflicto y comunicación. El enfoque interdisciplinario incluye educación, historia, relaciones internacionales, derecho y sociología. Los capítulos son geográficamente diversos y atraviesan Aceh en Indonesia, Australia, Inglaterra, Finlandia, Irlanda, Singapur, Sudáfrica y Zimbabwe. El libro destaca las posibilidades de reimaginar el futuro de modo que una comprensión más democrática y pacífica del lugar pueda conducir a menos conflictos y menos comunicación basada en conflictos.
