Este libro es una colección de estudios sobre el desarrollo y el crecimiento económicos en paÃses africanos seleccionados. Consta de una introducción/resumen y 15 estudios empÃricos interrelacionados agrupados en 5 áreas de investigación: empoderamiento de las mujeres y demanda de atención sanitaria; el impacto de las instituciones, la ayuda, la inflación y la IED en el crecimiento económico; efectos sobre la estructura de capital y el crecimiento de los préstamos bancarios; comercio, exportaciones de minerales y tipo de cambio; y el crecimiento, la productividad y la eficiencia en diversas industrias. Si bien proporciona una imagen integral del estado del desarrollo y el crecimiento económicos en la mayor parte del continente, el enfoque principal está en el desarrollo y el crecimiento económicos en EtiopÃa y Ruanda, dos paÃses que están experimentando un rápido desarrollo económico y social. |
