Este libro es un volumen de ensayos que celebran la vida y obra de Yoshiro Higano, profesor de Política Ambiental, Programa de Doctorado en Estudios Ambientales Sostenibles, Escuela de Graduados en Ciencias de la Vida y el Medio Ambiente, Universidad de Tsukuba, Japón. La investigación del Prof. Higano se centra principalmente en la evaluación integral de recursos y contenido de investigación para la ciencia y la ingeniería de decisiones, incluido el modelado de simulación para el control de calidad ambiental, la evaluación de tecnologías de remediación ambiental, la gestión integrada de cuencas fluviales (lagos) y la política ambiental sintetizada. Yoshiro Higano es el ex presidente de la Asociación Internacional de Ciencias Regionales (RSAI) y el actual presidente de la Sección Japonesa de la RSAI (JSRSAI). También se desempeñó como secretario ejecutivo de las Organizaciones de la Conferencia Científica Regional del Pacífico (PRSCO).
