Este libro aborda los desafíos que plantea la acelerada urbanización y desmitifica la sostenibilidad social, la menos comprendida de todas las diferentes áreas del desarrollo sostenible. El doble enfoque del volumen en estos temas profundamente entrelazados crea un recurso matizado y de vital importancia. Las grandes migraciones de las zonas rurales a las ciudades sin una planificación adecuada y mejoras de infraestructura, incluidas la optimización de la vivienda, la educación y la atención médica, han creado desafíos importantes en todo el mundo. Los autores sugieren estrategias ricas en tecnología para enfrentar estos desafíos mediante la aplicación cuidadosa de datos sobre el crecimiento y el movimiento de la población a la planificación, el diseño y la construcción de infraestructuras operativas que puedan respaldar de manera sostenible nuestro crecimiento demográfico cada vez más rápido. |
