Este es el primer volumen que presenta capítulos individuales sobre la gama completa de trastornos pragmáticos adquiridos y del desarrollo en niños y adultos. En capítulos accesibles a estudiantes e investigadores, así como a médicos, este volumen presenta al lector los diferentes tipos de trastornos pragmáticos que se encuentran en poblaciones clínicas tan diversas como el trastorno del espectro autista, la lesión cerebral traumática y el trastorno del lenguaje del hemisferio derecho. El volumen también va más allá de estas poblaciones bien establecidas para incluir afecciones como la discapacidad visual congénita y las demencias no relacionadas con el Alzheimer, en las que también hay discapacidades pragmáticas. Mediante el uso de datos lingüísticos y conversacionales, el lector puede ver cómo los trastornos pragmáticos impactan en las habilidades de comunicación de los clientes que los padecen. Se examinan la evaluación y el tratamiento de los trastornos pragmáticos y los capítulos también abordan los desarrollos recientes en las bases neuroanatómicas y cognitivas de estos trastornos. |
