Este manual presenta las investigaciones actuales sobre los niños y jóvenes de familias pertenecientes a minorÃas étnicas. Refleja el desarrollo que se está produciendo actualmente en el campo de la investigación en ciencias sociales para destacar la adaptación positiva de los niños y jóvenes pertenecientes a minorÃas. Ofrece una sÃntesis sucinta de la situación actual del campo y de la dirección que debe tomar. Reúne a un grupo internacional de investigadores destacados y, en vista de la globalización y el aumento de la migración y la inmigración, aborda qué aspectos de los niños y jóvenes que crecen en familias pertenecientes a minorÃas étnicas son universales en todos los contextos y qué aspectos son más especÃficos de cada contexto. El manual examina los factores individuales, familiares, de pares y del vecindario/polÃticas que protegen a los niños y promueven la adaptación positiva. Examina los factores que apoyan la integración social, la adaptación psicosocial y el funcionamiento externo de los niños. Por último, analiza los mecanismos que explican por qué se produce la adaptación social. |
