Este libro aborda de manera integral el uso de la medición de la función pulmonar para la evaluación, detección y sincronización de la ventilación mecánica no invasiva (VMNI) desde el hospital hasta la atención domiciliaria. Para ello, describe tres etapas clÃnicas del soporte de la VMNI: antes de la VNI, para detectar marcadores precoces y determinar si la VNI es adecuada; durante la VNI, para evaluar la respuesta a la VNI; y en el apoyo a largo plazo de la VNI. Además, evalúa una variedad de organizaciones de atención médica complementaria (laboratorios de función pulmonar, salas de neumologÃa, unidades de cuidados semiintensivos y programas de ventilación mecánica domiciliaria), técnicas (fisioterapia torácica/secreciones de las vÃas respiratorias, etc.) y aplicaciones.
