Resumen:	Este libro ofrece una comprensión matizada de cómo se pueden aplicar dos teorías diferentes del liderazgo para lograr mejores resultados en las escuelas. Estas teorías del liderazgo (Liderazgo instruccional y Liderazgo para el aprendizaje) han ayudado a nuestra comprensión reciente del liderazgo escolar. Este libro interroga las teorías mismas así como su impacto en los sistemas educativos de todo el mundo. También analiza cómo se pueden aplicar en la práctica para educar a los líderes escolares dentro y fuera de sus escuelas, creando asociaciones con familias, escuelas y otras agencias comunitarias que atienden a los estudiantes. Al hacerlo, el libro considera la posibilidad de que estas teorías no sean opuestas, sino dos caras de una misma moneda. Ambos se basan en la pregunta "¿cómo ofrecemos la mejor experiencia educativa a los estudiantes?". La respuesta a esta pregunta determinará la forma en que los líderes realicen la tarea de dirigir escuelas.
