Este libro ofrece ricas perspectivas crÃticas sobre el marketing de una variedad de juguetes, marcas y categorÃas de productos. Los temas incluyen marketing realizado por marcas especÃficas de juguetes para niños como American Girl, Barbie, Disney, GoldieBlox, Fisher-Price y LEGO, y tendencias de marketing que caracterizan categorÃas de juguetes más amplias, como juguetes grotescos de moda; armas de fuego de juguete; juguetes minimalistas; toyética; juguetes destinados a ofrecer una representación diversa; juguetes STEM; y vÃdeos de unboxing. El marketing de juguetes merece una crÃtica académica sostenida debido a la importancia cultural de los juguetes y su papel en la vida de los niños, asà como a la importancia económica de la industria. Los discursos en torno a los juguetes (incluido para quién están destinados ciertos juguetes y qué pueden significar diversos juguetes y marcas sobre las identidades de sus propietarios) tienen implicaciones para nuestra comprensión de las expectativas de los adultos sobre los niños y de las normas sociales más amplias en las que se socializa a los niños. |
