Este libro aborda una amplia gama de temas relacionados con las propiedades y el comportamiento de la materia condensada en condiciones extremas, como intensos campos magnéticos y eléctricos, altas presiones, calor y frío, y tensiones mecánicas. Está dividido en cuatro secciones dedicadas a la teoría de la materia condensada, la química molecular, la física teórica y la filosofía y la historia de la ciencia. Los temas principales incluyen correlaciones electrónicas en sistemas materiales bajo condiciones extremas de presión y temperatura, física de superficies, las propiedades de transporte de sistemas electrónicos de baja dimensión, aplicaciones de la teoría funcional de la densidad en sistemas moleculares y grafeno. El libro es el resultado de un taller celebrado en la Universidad de Catania, Italia, en honor del profesor Renato Pucci con motivo de su 70 cumpleaños. Incluye contribuciones invitadas seleccionadas de colaboradores y coautores del profesor Pucci durante su larga y exitosa carrera, así como de otros autores invitados distinguidos. |
