Este volumen describe las formas en que áreas clave de la atención médica, el bienestar, la seguridad del paciente y el cambio organizacional se superponen y contribuyen a generar lugares de trabajo insalubres para los profesionales de la salud. En el ámbito de la atención sanitaria cada vez se comprende más que el bienestar de los trabajadores sanitarios, los resultados de los pacientes y el cambio organizativo están vinculados simbióticamente. El agotamiento y el estrés en los trabajadores de la salud y las culturas organizacionales tóxicas pueden conducir a un ciclo de negligencia del paciente, errores médicos, atención subóptima y más estrés. Por lo tanto, este volumen temático describe las formas en que el bienestar de los trabajadores, los resultados de los pacientes y el cambio organizacional pueden alinearse para contribuir a un lugar de trabajo saludable y, por lo tanto, a una mejor atención médica.
