Este volumen editado presenta la investigación actual en bioestadÃstica con énfasis en aplicaciones biofarmacéuticas. Con contribuciones presentadas en el Simposio de EstadÃstica Aplicada de ICSA 2017 celebrado en Chicago, IL, del 25 al 28 de junio de 2017, este libro explora temas actuales que tienen un alto impacto potencial en la metodologÃa estadÃstica y la investigación futura en bioestadÃstica y biofarmacéutica. El tema de esta conferencia fue EstadÃsticas para una nueva generación: desafÃos y oportunidades, en reconocimiento al advenimiento de una nueva generación de estadÃsticos. La conferencia atrajo a estadÃsticos que trabajan en el mundo académico, el gobierno y la industria; estadÃsticos nacionales e internacionales. De la conferencia, los editores seleccionaron 28 presentaciones de alta calidad e invitaron a los oradores a preparar capÃtulos completos para este libro. Estas contribuciones se dividen en cuatro partes: Parte I MetodologÃa BioestadÃstica, Parte II Genética EstadÃstica y Bioinformática, Parte III EstadÃsticas Regulatorias y Parte IV Investigación y Aplicaciones Biofarmacéuticas. Featuring contributions presented at the 2017 ICSA Applied Statistics Symposium held in Chicago, IL on June 25 to 28, 2017, this book explores timely topics that have a high potential impact on statistical methodology and future research in biostatistics and biopharmaceuticals. The theme of this conference was Statistics for A New Generation: Challenges and Opportunities, in recognition of the advent of a new generation of statisticians. The conference attracted statisticians working in academia, government, and industry; domestic and international statisticians.
