Este libro presenta nuevos conocimientos sobre las consecuencias del inminente crecimiento y el impacto del segmento mayor de las comunidades que envejecen en las economÃas locales. Utiliza un marco de investigación comparativo para ampliar nuestra comprensión de los problemas de salud y envejecimiento en el contexto transnacional de la salud y la experiencia migratoria de la población mexicano-estadounidense. También proporciona una contribución importante a la investigación interdisciplinaria de nuevos enfoques conceptuales y metodológicos en estudios comparativos (comparaciones intergrupales) del envejecimiento y la investigación de la salud hispana. EspecÃficamente, los capÃtulos emplean diferentes metodologÃas para abordar cuestiones relacionadas con los procesos de inmigración, la estructura familiar y del hogar, los cambios macroeconómicos en la calidad de vida comunitaria y se centran en las nuevas realidades del envejecimiento de las familias latinas en las comunidades locales. El libro se centra en la medición, cuestiones de calidad de los datos, nuevas técnicas de modelado conceptual y capacidades de encuesta longitudinal. Como tal, es de interés para investigadores y responsables polÃticos en ciencias sociales y salud pública. |
