Este volumen editado presenta investigaciones intrigantes, novedosas e innovadoras en el campo de la educación cientÃfica. Los capÃtulos del libro abordan una amplia variedad de temas y enfoques de investigación, realizados en diversos contextos y entornos, y todos ellos aportan una importante contribución al conocimiento sobre la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las ciencias. El libro se compone de estudios seleccionados de alta calidad que se presentaron en la 11ª Conferencia de la Asociación Europea de Investigación en Educación CientÃfica (ESERA), celebrada en Helsinki, Finlandia, del 31 de agosto al 4 de septiembre de 2015. La comunidad de investigación en educación cientÃfica de ESERA está formada por profesionales con diversos orÃgenes disciplinarios, desde las ciencias naturales hasta las ciencias sociales. Esta diversidad proporciona una rica comprensión de los aspectos cognitivos y afectivos de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las ciencias en este volumen. Los estudios de este libro invocarán debates y despertarán un mayor interés en encontrar nuevas formas de hacer e investigar la educación cientÃfica para el futuro y buscar socios internacionales tanto para la educación cientÃfica como para la investigación en educación cientÃfica. Los veinticinco capÃtulos muestran las orientaciones actuales de la investigación en educación cientÃfica y son de interés para profesores de ciencias, formadores de docentes e investigadores en educación cientÃfica de todo el mundo con un compromiso con la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de las ciencias basadas en evidencia y con visión de futuro. |

The chapters in the book deal with a wide variety of topics and research approaches, conducted in various contexts and settings, all adding a strong contribution to knowledge on science teaching and learning. The book is comprised of selected high-quality studies that were presented at the 11th European Science Education Research Association (ESERA) Conference, held in Helsinki, Finland from 31 August to 4 September, 2015. The ESERA science education research community consists of professionals with diverse disciplinary backgrounds from natural sciences to social sciences. This diversity provides a rich understanding of cognitive and affective aspects of science teaching and learning in this volume. The studies in this book will invoke discussion and ignite further interest in finding new ways of doing and researching science education for the future and looking for international partners for both science education and science education research.
