CompleNet tiene como objetivo reunir a investigadores y profesionales que trabajan en áreas relacionadas con redes complejas. Las últimas dos décadas han sido testigos de un aumento exponencial en el número de publicaciones dentro de este campo. Desde los sistemas biológicos hasta la informática, desde los sistemas económicos hasta los sociales, las redes complejas se están volviendo omnipresentes en muchos campos de la ciencia. Es esta naturaleza interdisciplinaria de las redes complejas lo que CompleNet pretende abordar. En las últimas décadas se ha visto el surgimiento de redes complejas como lenguaje con el que se puede describir y comprender adecuadamente una amplia gama de fenómenos complejos en campos tan diversos como la física, la informática y la medicina (por nombrar algunos).
