Al abordar los 17 Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) previstos por las Naciones Unidas en los ámbitos del medio ambiente, la salud y el bienestar, que plantean medios potenciales para reducir las desigualdades a nivel mundial, los autores se centran en cuestiones y desafÃos especÃficos que enfrenta la región de rápido crecimiento de la ASEAN. y presentar sugerencias para la cooperación y el compromiso de los gobiernos, las organizaciones no gubernamentales (ONG) y la sociedad en general, en lÃnea con la Visión 2020 de la ASEAN. Los artÃculos se seleccionan de la Tercera Conferencia Internacional sobre el Futuro de la ASEAN (ICoFA) 2019, organizado por Universiti Teknologi MARA en Malasia, cuyo tema de conferencia "Trazando el futuro sostenible de la ASEAN" permite el discurso intelectual sobre cuestiones de sostenibilidad desde los negocios y las ciencias sociales, asà como la ciencia y la tecnologÃa. La selección de artÃculos se publica en dos volúmenes y comprende conocimientos académicos y prácticos sobre la sostenibilidad en la ASEAN.
