Los primeros tres capÃtulos analizan el vÃnculo entre los desastres y la reducción del riesgo de conflictos, las respuestas a los desastres socioambientales en escenarios de conflictos de alta intensidad y el frágil estado de la respuesta a los desastres, con especial atención a las relaciones entre la ayuda, el Estado y la sociedad en entornos posconflicto. Los dos capÃtulos siguientes analizan la agricultura climáticamente inteligente y un sistema alimentario sostenible para una paz sustentable y generada y la etnologÃa de recursos culturales indÃgenas seleccionados para la adaptación al cambio climático, centrándose en las respuestas de los Abagusii en Kenia. Un estudio de caso especÃfico se centra en las representaciones sociales y la familia como institución social en transición en México, mientras que el último capÃtulo aborda la paz sostenible a través de la transición hacia la sostenibilidad como ciencia transformadora y concluye con una perspectiva de ecologÃa de paz para el Antropoceno.
