Este libro es una descripción general de última generación de la terapia regional contra el cáncer (TRC) para los cirujanos y radiólogos intervencionistas activos en el desarrollo y la investigación de la TRC. Los objetivos de este libro son 1) revisar la teorÃa y la práctica de las terapias regionales contra el cáncer, incluida la farmacologÃa, los dispositivos, las técnicas y el flujo de trabajo, 2) ilustrar los procedimientos más comunes realizados en las salas de intervención y quirófano, y 3) discutir los datos que respaldan su uso. de TRC. Este pretende ser un texto definitivo sobre la teorÃa y la práctica de la TRC. Comienza con un resumen de la historia y los principios técnicos que subyacen a la terapia regional. Las siguientes partes analizan los datos y la práctica actuales en sitios peritoneales, hepáticos, de extremidades, pleurales y otros. En la práctica se incluyen consideraciones sobre el flujo de trabajo y las cuestiones financieras que giran en torno a CRT. Se presentan nuevas técnicas y terapias que se están investigando para informar la dirección del campo. This book is a state-of-the-art overview of cancer regional therapy (CRT) for the surgeons and interventional radiologists active in CRT development and research. The goals of this book are 1) to review the theory and practice of cancer regional therapies including pharmacology, devices, techniques, and workflow, 2) illustrate the most common procedures performed in the interventional and operating rooms, and 3) discuss data supporting use of CRT. This is meant to be a definitive text on the theory and practice of CRT. It begins with a summary of the history, technical principles that underlie regional therapy. The following parts discuss current data and practice in peritoneal, liver, limb, pleural and other sites. Included in the practice are considerations of workflow and financial issues revolving around CRT. Novel techniques and therapies under investigation are presented to inform the direction of the field. Cancer Regional Therapy summarizes thehistory, current technology, common procedures, and future prospects in this field and includes procedures from many surgical and interventional radiologic disciplines. |
