La aviación en la literatura y la cultura de la Gran Bretaña de entreguerras analiza el impacto de la aviación en Gran Bretaña y más allá durante las décadas de 1920 y 1930. Este libro analiza cómo en este período volar pasó de ser un arma de guerra a una extensa industria que incluía viajes aéreos civiles, entrega de correo aéreo, espectáculos aéreos y campañas para crear una "mentalidad aeronáutica". Los ensayos analizan estos desarrollos a través del trabajo de escritores, cineastas y folletos y examinan el modernismo con mentalidad aérea que marcó este período radical. Sus catorce capítulos incluyen estudios de textos de Virginia Woolf, George Orwell, Elizabeth Bowen, WH Auden, TH White y John Masefield; cuentas de la exhibición anual de la RAF en Hendon y del Trofeo Schneider; y los logros de celebridades como Amy Johnson.
