Este libro analiza los diversos problemas del crecimiento, el comercio y las políticas públicas desde la perspectiva de la economía aplicada, basándose en investigaciones en áreas como las políticas públicas, el comercio y la regulación, y la economía del desarrollo. La primera parte investiga los problemas generales del crecimiento y la economía regional, centrándose en la evolución económica de Japón y Corea. La segunda parte analiza el comercio y la inversión extranjera en Japón, principalmente sobre una base empírica. Luego, la Parte 3 examina varias políticas económicas públicas utilizando herramientas de análisis aplicadas.
