Este volumen analiza los contextos emergentes de resiliencia agrÃcola y de los ecosistemas en el Ãfrica subsahariana, asà como los avances tecnológicos contemporáneos que han influido en los medios de vida africanos. En seis secciones, el libro aborda los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible para mitigar los impactos negativos sobre la productividad agrÃcola provocados por el cambio climático en Ãfrica. Algunos de los desafÃos evaluados incluyen la degradación del suelo, los cambios en el uso de la tierra, la mala gestión de los recursos naturales, la disminución de la productividad de los cultivos y el estancamiento económico. Este libro será de interés para investigadores, ONG y organizaciones de desarrollo. La sección 1 se centra en la gestión del riesgo climático en Ãfrica tropical. La Sección 2 aborda el nexo agua-ecosistema-agricultura e identifica las mejores estrategias para el uso sostenible del agua. La Sección 3 presenta las TecnologÃas de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) y cómo se pueden utilizar para mejorar la resiliencia humana y de los ecosistemas y mejorar la calidad de vida en las comunidades. La sección 4 analiza la ciencia y las polÃticas de la agricultura transformadora, incluidos los desafÃos que enfrenta la producción y el manejo de cultivos. La Sección 5 aborda los procesos paisajÃsticos, la seguridad humana y la gobernanza de los agroecosistemas. La sección 6 concluye el libro con capÃtulos que cubren de manera única la dinámica de género de la resiliencia agrÃcola, de los ecosistemas y de los medios de vida. |
