Este libro es un homenaje al profesor Jacek Å»urada, mejor conocido por sus contribuciones a la inteligencia computacional y la neurocomputación basada en el conocimiento. Está dedicado al Profesor Jacek Å»urada, Profesor Titular del Laboratorio de Inteligencia Computacional, Departamento de IngenierÃa Eléctrica e Informática, Escuela de IngenierÃa JB Speed, Universidad de Louisville, Kentucky, EE. UU., como muestra de agradecimiento por sus logros cientÃficos y académicos, y por su servicio de larga data a muchas comunidades, en particular la comunidad de inteligencia computacional, en particular las redes neuronales, el aprendizaje automático, el análisis de datos y la minerÃa de datos, pero también las comunidades de lógica difusa y computación evolutiva, por nombrar solo algunas. Al mismo tiempo, el libro reconoce y honra la dedicación y el servicio del profesor Å»urada a muchas sociedades cientÃficas, académicas y profesionales, especialmente al IEEE (Instituto de Ingenieros Eléctricos y Electrónicos), la organización profesional técnica profesional más grande del mundo dedicada al avance de la ciencia y la tecnologÃa en un amplio espectro de áreas y campos. El volumen se divide en cinco partes principales, la primera de las cuales aborda problemas teóricos, algorÃtmicos y de implementación relacionados con el uso inteligente de datos en el sentido de cómo derivar información y conocimiento prácticamente útil a partir de los datos. A su vez, la Parte 2 está dedicada a diversos aspectos de las redes neuronales y los sistemas conexionistas. This book is a tribute to Professor Jacek Żurada, who is best known for his contributions to computational intelligence and knowledge-based neurocomputing. It is dedicated to Professor Jacek Żurada, Full Professor at the Computational Intelligence Laboratory, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, J.B. Speed School of Engineering, University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA, as a token of appreciation for his scientific and scholarly achievements, and for his longstanding service to many communities, notably the computational intelligence community, in particular neural networks, machine learning, data analyses and data mining, but also the fuzzy logic and evolutionary computation communities, to name but a few. At the same time, the book recognizes and honors Professor Żurada's dedication and service to many scientific, scholarly and professional societies, especially the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), the world's largest professional technical professional organization dedicated to advancing science and technology in a broad spectrum of areas and fields. The volume is divided into five major parts, the first of which addresses theoretic, algorithmic and implementation problems related to the intelligent use of data in the sense of how to derive practically useful information and knowledge from data. In turn, Part 2 is devoted to various aspects of neural networks and connectionist systems.
