Este volumen editado busca comprender y explicar el patrón de éxito nacional y regional variable en la transición política y económica poscomunista en todo el mundo poscomunista. A pesar de las esperanzas generalizadas de que se desarrollen sistemas políticos democráticos vigorosos y economías de mercado vibrantes, los resultados de un cuarto de siglo de transición poscomunista en los países del antiguo bloque comunista de Eurasia han sido muy variables. Algunos han coincidido con estas esperanzas, incluido el de convertirse en miembros de pleno derecho de la UE; otros se han quedado muy cortos, con sistemas políticos y económicos que han cambiado poco desde la era comunista. Esta colección, con una lista de colaboradores respetada internacionalmente, aborda algunas de las cuestiones apremiantes en la ciencia política y los estudios de transición, que van desde resúmenes teóricos hasta los detalles más específicos de la política contemporánea. |
