En todo el mundo, la educación superior está experimentando un crecimiento exponencial tanto en la participación de los estudiantes como en los tipos de proveedores educativos. Un fenómeno clave de este crecimiento es el aumento de la diversidad estudiantil: los gobiernos están ampliando el acceso a la educación superior para estudiantes de grupos tradicionalmente subrepresentados. Sin embargo, esto plantea dudas sobre si este rápido crecimiento puede comprometer la calidad académica. Este libro presenta estudios de casos sobre cómo las instituciones de educación superior en diversos países mantienen la excelencia académica al tiempo que aumentan el acceso y la participación de estudiantes de entornos históricamente subrepresentados. Incluyendo estudios de casos que abarcan cuatro continentes, los autores y editores examinan si el aumento de la participación tiene un impacto positivo en la calidad académica.
