Este libro aborda ampliamente el concepto de maternidad en el mundo académico para ofrecer ideas para reimaginar una educación superior más receptiva. Escrito en colaboración como colectivos internacionales, interdisciplinarios e intergeneracionales, los editores y colaboradores utilizan varias formas de entender la "maternidad" para llamar la atención sobre (y alterar) las estructuras masculinas que actualmente definen la vida y el trabajo de las mujeres en la academia. Al cambiar el enfoque de las interpretaciones patriarcales de la academia, las narrativas abrazan y defienden la erudición feminista y femenina.
