Este libro presenta una colección de trabajos de investigación que abordan el desafÃo de cómo desarrollar software basándose en principios que, en particular, permitan el razonamiento. Los artÃculos individuales abordan este desafÃo desde varias perspectivas, incluidos los lenguajes de programación, la verificación de programas y la variación sistemática del software. Los temas cubiertos incluyen abstracciones de programación para software concurrente y distribuido, técnicas de especificación y verificación para programas imperativos y técnicas de desarrollo para lÃneas de productos de software. Con este libro, los editores y autores desean reconocer, con motivo de su 60 cumpleaños, el trabajo de Arnd Poetzsch-Heffter, quien ha realizado importantes contribuciones a la tecnologÃa del software a lo largo de su carrera. Presenta artÃculos sobre los amplios intereses de investigación de Arnd, que incluyen, entre otros, la implementación de lenguajes de programación, semántica formal, especificación y verificación de programas concurrentes y orientados a objetos, diseño de lenguajes de programación, sistemas distribuidos, modelado de software y lÃneas de productos de software. Todos los autores contribuyentes son destacados expertos en lenguajes de programación e ingenierÃa de software que han colaborado con Arnd a lo largo de su carrera. En general, el libro ofrece una colección de artÃculos de alta calidad que presentan resultados de investigación originales, estudios de casos importantes y visiones inspiradoras. Parte del trabajo incluido aquà fue presentado en un simposio en honor a Arnd Poetzsch-Heffter, celebrado en Kaiserslautern, Alemania, en noviembre de 2018. |

This book presents a collection of research papers that address the challenge of how to develop software in a principled way that, in particular, enables reasoning. The individual papers approach this challenge from various perspectives including programming languages, program verification, and the systematic variation of software. Topics covered include programming abstractions for concurrent and distributed software, specification and verification techniques for imperative programs, and development techniques for software product lines. With this book the editors and authors wish to acknowledge – on the occasion of his 60th birthday – the work of Arnd Poetzsch-Heffter, who has made major contributions to software technology throughout his career. It features articles on Arnd's broad research interests including, among others, the implementation of programming languages, formal semantics, specification and verification of object-oriented and concurrent programs, programming language design, distributed systems, software modeling, and software product lines. All contributing authors are leading experts in programming languages and software engineering who have collaborated with Arnd in the course of his career. Overall, the book offers a collection of high-quality articles, presenting original research results, major case studies, and inspiring visions. Some of the work included here was presented at a symposium in honor of Arnd Poetzsch-Heffter, held in Kaiserslautern, Germany, in November 2018. |
