Esta colección examina las relaciones entre un capitalismo neoliberal globalizador, un entorno de recesión y austeridad posterior a la crisis financiera mundial y las economías morales de la salud y el bienestar de los jóvenes. Los autores exploran cómo en la segunda década del siglo XXI, muchos jóvenes de las economías de la OCDE/UE y de las economías en desarrollo de Asia, África y América Central y del Sur siguen soportando una carga especialmente pesada por muchos de los efectos secundarios de la crisis financiera mundial de 2008-2009. Los autores exploran las formas en que las crecientes desigualdades locales y globales suelen tener profundas consecuencias para grandes poblaciones de jóvenes. Estas consecuencias no solo están relacionadas con la marginación de la educación, la formación y el trabajo. También incluyen obstáculos a su participación activa en la vida cívica de sus comunidades, a sus transiciones, a su sentido de pertenencia. El libro examina las decisiones que toman, o no toman, los gobiernos, las empresas y los individuos en relación con la educación, la formación, el trabajo, la salud y el bienestar, las sexualidades, las dietas y los cuerpos de los jóvenes, en el contexto de una crisis del neoliberalismo y de la austeridad. |
