Este libro editado se sitúa en la intersección entre el debate sobre las empresas familiares, la agenda de RSE y la competencia empresarial en Europa. Los autores contribuyen a los debates sobre la responsabilidad sostenible corporativa argumentando que los sistemas de gestión formales no son la solución única que normalmente se presenta. Al explorar interpretaciones alternativas del perfil que tienen las actividades de gestión ambiental en las PYME, el libro evalúa la forma en que los valores culturales y éticos están integrados en las PYME europeas para impulsar y orientar con éxito la RSE sin seguir el enfoque dominante de "sistemas". Aborda varios valores de pensamiento dentro del debate sobre la RSE, como la RSE intrÃnseca, el papel de la ética de las virtudes y la teorÃa moral en la cultura corporativa, la sostenibilidad ambiental y la RSE impulsada por una visión. Centrándose en una perspectiva europea, el libro explora heurÃsticamente un modelo alternativo para la integración de la RSE, la dinámica de la innovación y el éxito económico impulsado por valores intrÃnsecos en lugar de racionalizaciones extrÃnsecas posteriores a la decisión. |

This edited book is at the intersection between the discussion on family-owned business, the CSR agenda, and company competition in Europe. The authors contribute to the debates on corporate sustainable responsibility by arguing that formal management systems are not the one-size-fits-all solution they are typically presented to be. Exploring alternative interpretations of the profile environmental management activities have in SMEs, the book evaluates the way in which cultural and ethical values are embedded in European SMEs in order to drive and orientate CSR successfully without following the mainstream 'systems' approach. It addresses several values of thought within the CSR debate such as intrinsic CSR, the role of virtue ethics and moral theory in corporate culture, environmental sustainability and vision-driven CSR. Focusing on a European perspective, the book heuristically explores an alternative model for the integration of CSR, innovation dynamics and economic success driven by intrinsic values rather than extrinsic post-decision rationalisations. |
