El Consejo Australiano de Investigación define la investigación como "la creación de nuevos conocimientos y/o el uso de los conocimientos existentes de una manera nueva y creativa para generar nuevos conceptos, metodologÃas, invenciones y comprensiones". Por tanto, la investigación es la base del conocimiento. Produce evidencia e informa acciones que pueden proporcionar beneficios más amplios a una sociedad. El conocimiento que los investigadores cultivan a partir de una investigación puede adoptarse para programas sociales y de salud que puedan mejorar la salud y el bienestar de los individuos, sus comunidades y las sociedades en las que viven. Como hemos sido testigos en todos los rincones del mundo, la investigación se ha convertido en una tarea que la mayorÃa de nosotros en las ciencias sociales y de la salud no podemos evitar. Este Manual está concebido para proporcionar la base a los lectores que deseen embarcarse en un proyecto de investigación para adquirir los conocimientos que necesitan. El Manual consta de cuatro secciones principales: ciencias de métodos de investigación tradicionales; Métodos de investigación innovadores; Realizar investigaciones transculturales; y MetodologÃa y enfoque de investigación sensibles. Este Manual da fe de la diversidad y riqueza de los métodos de investigación en las ciencias sociales y de la salud. Beneficiará a muchos lectores, en particular a estudiantes e investigadores que realizan investigaciones en las áreas de ciencias sociales y de salud. También es valioso para las necesidades de formación de estudiantes de posgrado que desean realizar investigaciones en entornos interculturales, con grupos especiales de personas, ya que proporciona conocimientos esenciales no sólo sobre los métodos de recopilación de datos sino también sobre cuestiones destacadas que necesitan saber. si desean tener éxito en sus esfuerzos de investigación. |
